Minturn, Shirley Alice 88 of Paradise Valley Az, passed away peacefully in her home with her loving family at her side on July 10, 2017. Shirley was born on April 14th 1929 in Watertown, Connecticut and is the youngest daughter of the late George and Eleanor Moseley. Shirley graduated from Skidmore College with a BS in Nursing. She practiced and taught nursing for many years. Shirley met her husband , Bill, while working at New York Receiving Hospital and they married shortly thereafter. Her husband thought she was the prettiest women he had ever seen. Shirley loved to travel and had many adventures with her husband and children. In her later years she enjoyed an occasional weekend trip to Las Vegas with her close friends or family. She is remembered as a kind, generous, and intelligent woman. Shirley was the centerpiece of the family and throughout her life helped mentor all of her family members towards a more enriched life. She emphasized the importance of education and enabled all of her family members to achieve whatever educational goals they desired. She taught everyone the importance of family and always went out her way to be present at any important life events. She was an inspiration to anyone that met her. She will forever be in our hearts, our love for her will never fade, and she is deeply missed She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dr. William (Bill) Oliver Minturn. She is survived by her older sister Marianne Quinnell, her children Sarah Minturn, David Minturn, and Laura Fenwick, her grandchildren, Zach O'Brien, Jessica Rice, and Jeremy Swank, her great grandchildren Kaden, Landis, Mason, Samantha, Kalvin, and Chassedi, and her great-great grandchild Stella.
