Shirley B. Goodemoot passed away Friday, November 4, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 92.Shirley was born on June 29, 1924 in Centralia, Illinois to Earle and Margaret Scramlin. The family moved to Lake Worth, Florida when Shirley was a young girl. She worked her way through Spring Arbor Junior College in Spring Arbor, Michigan and then Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. Upon graduation she returned to Michigan where she taught elementary school until her marriage in 1956 to Earl (Pat) Goodemoot of Lake Odessa. She was a loving mother and a farmer's wife and faithfully attended Clarksville Bible Church for many years. Shortly after her husband's passing in 1977, she retired to North Carolina and eventually settled with her daughter in Phoenix, Arizona. She was friendly and kind to all, gladly serving those in need of her help. She will be greatly missed by many, but especially by her family. Shirley is survived by her children, John Goodemoot and Sherry (David) Lopez; her grandchildren, Andrew Lopez and Hannah Lopez; her sister, Jessie Winckles; a brother, Jim Scramlin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl (Pat), her parents, and nine brothers and sisters.A memorial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa in the spring.
