She married her loving husband Wayne Fussell in 1966 and together they raised two children, Adam Douglas and Christie Corley. Shirley was a devoted member of the Fleming Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was actively involved in various church organizations.

Shirley found joy in spending time with her family and cherished her role as a grandmother to four grandchildren. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

On October 11, 2024, Shirley passed away from a sudden heart attack, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She will be remembered for her warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering faith in God. The family invites all who knew and loved Shirley to join in honoring her life. A wake will be held on Sunday, October 13th at 10:00 AM at Williams Funeral Home in Hephzibah, Georgia, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
