Shawn Girrard, a beloved member of the Gaston community, passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 45. Born on June 12, 1978, Shawn touched the lives of many with his kind heart and willingness to share his knowledge of the outdoors and fishing. He was known for his love of the outdoors and seasons that the Oregon Willamette Valley provides. This love kept him busy year round. He was frequently found fishing in the fall, snowboarding in the winter, and hiking and camping through the spring and the summer. He found strength from dear friends and love with no bounds while breading his litters of his pugs. This love also gave him the strength he needed when times were tough, as he always faced the day head-on with the fortitude to surge again and again. He always spoke fondly in regards to his grandmother, Eve. As she was the reason he found his love for he outdoors. His friendship was unwavering and if you were his friend you were considered a friend for life. Shawn will be remembered for his love of adventure, his spirit, and his ability to always see the good in everything. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
