Sharon Rose BarrettJune 17, 1939 - November 01, 2017Visalia"Gone to be with Our Lord, Sharon Rose Barrett, 78, passed away on All Saints Day, November 1, 2017 in Visalia, California. She was born on June 17, 1939 in Bison, South Dakota to Herbert & Rosemary Shea Shewas, a kind and generous woman loved by many.Sharon grew up in Bison, South Dakota. She graduated from Bison High School in 1957. After high school she went on to complete secretarial college in Rapid City, South Dakota. Sharon married Rufus Barrett in 1964 in San Francisco, CA. They were happily married until the passing of Rufus in 1988. Sharon was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She loved her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the beloved children and grandchildren she "adopted" in her warm-hearted way.Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Herbert; mother, Rosemary; husband, Rufus; granddaughter, Marjory; sister, Virginia. Sharon is survived by her daughters Rose Barrett of Berkeley, CA; Nancy Barrett Bilotta of Bakersfield, CA; Laurie Barrett Evans of Austin, TX; her sister Caryle Keefe; her brother Duane Shea; her grandchildren Rosemary King, Ryan King, Zachary Stewart, Hannah Stewart, Sadie Stewart, Addison Stewart, Tucker Bilotta, Cooper Bilotta, Jaclynn Phillips, Kristen Bilotta, Emma Forshay, Grace Forshay, Piper Evans, JD Evans, Dylan Evans; great-grandchildren Levi Love, Keith Stewart, Logan Stewart, and Amelia Panoski. Her daughters would like to thank all the friends and health care providers who loved and cared for our Mom, dear friends who took her to appointments and lunches, and who brought her Starbucks. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church St., Visalia, CA. Immediately following the Memorial Service a gathering will take place at Junipero Serra Center, adjacent to St. Mary's at 600 N. Garden St. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Valley Oaks SPCA, 9405 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, CA 93291.
