Sharon Lee WorthingtonOf Des Moines, IowaSharon L. Worthington, age 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving dogs on January 23, 2017. She was born on February 21, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas.Sharon in her younger years was very involved in March of Dimes and later retired from the State where she made many friends. She cherished her beloved four-legged babies, Chloe and Cuddles.She is survived by her loving children, Valerie (Rob) Hansen, Jeff (Lyne) Van Vlair, and Darleen (Randy) Witzel; grandchildren, Jasmine, Hannah, Christopher, Tylor, Kaitlyn, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Serena; sister, Cathy Erlandson; and a host of family and friends.Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Twila Worthington; and grandson, Brandon.Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., with funeral service beginning at 11 a.m.Memorials may be directed to the ARL in loving memory of Sharon.
