Saundra "Sandi" Lynn Smith, age 60, of Mentor, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake following a brief illness.

Born January 1, 1959 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Saundra was the daughter of  Jimmie H. and Martha June (Blanken) Smith-Starcher. She grew up in Mentor and resided in LaGrange for several years.

Saundra is survived by her daughter, Angela Houghton; sons, Justin and Jesse Houghton; mother, Martha June Smith-Starcher; brother, John (Elise) Smith; and five grandchildren: Jesse, Andrea, Aviannah, Mary, and Jaxsyn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie H. Smith.

Per Saundra's wishes, no services were held.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Saundra's name to Lake Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Boulevard, Bldg. E, Mentor, OH 44060; or to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106-2204.
