Samir Wiggins, “Mir” to his family and friends was born September 30, 1970, in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents Maurice Wiggins and Maxine Goodwin. He entered into his eternal life on the morning of April 15, 2019. 

Samir was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. The youngest of his parents two children, Maxine often joked how Samir has been an adult since he was five years old, always making sure everyone else was taken care of first. Samir attended Jersey City Public Schools, graduating from Henry Synder High School In 1988. He matriculated all the way to his Master's Degree at Virginia State University, (Petersburg, VA) earning a bachelors degree from New Jersey City University (Jersey City, New Jersey) and an Associate Degree from Hudson County Community College (Jersey City, New Jersey) along the way. Though he took advantage of the opportunities to travel around the country that pursuing his education provided, Samir loved Jersey City, making it his permanent home.
