Sam G. Hamstra Jr., 75, of Wheatfield, passed away on, Tuesday, May 26, 2015.  Sam was born on July 4, 1939, in Renssealer, the son of Sam G. and Dorothy (Abbring) Hamstra Sr.Sam was a graduate of the DeMotte High School, class of 1957.  On July 29, 1958, in DeMotte, Sam married the love of his life, Marilyn (Walstra) and with that union they had four children.  He was a farmer and enjoyed driving through the country looking at the crops.  Sam loved his grandchildren and he loved to fish.  He was a member of the American Reformed Church in DeMotte.Sam leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Marilyn; his children, Julie (Gary Graves) Martin, Ronnie (Kim) Hamstra, both of DeMotte, Shari (Randy) Williams of Rensselaer, and Kristy Howe of Plainfield, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Lornell (Paul) Hoffman of DeMotte.Friends may call on Friday, May 29, from 3 - 8 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte.  A Funeral Service will be held at the Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte, on Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Dan Jelsma officiating.  Interment will be held at the Holland Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village or  DeMotte Christian School.
