Sally Lydia FernandezAugust 12, 1946 - May 28, 2017VisaliaOn May 28, 2017 beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sally Lydia Fernandez, succumbed to complications from her liver transplant that she received on December 31, 2007. She joined her parents Cora and Jess Arroyo, sisters Julia and Christie, brothers Ernie and Joe and son Eddie "Chato" Fernandez in paradise. Sally was born on August 12, 1946 in Woodlake, CA to Cora and Jesse Arroyo where she grew up with her 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She lived the majority of her life in Woodlake, CA where she met her high school sweetheart, Robert Fernandez. The two eloped when Sally was at the young age of 16. They remained married for 54 years and they had 4 boys and 1 girl. Sally was a very charismatic and kind woman. Strangers, doctors, nurses or anyone she met would grow fond of Sally. She always had a friendly smile and warm kind words to express. Sally was a woman of faith. Her strong Catholic beliefs helped structure her family in faith. Her family was her passion. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they adored her. Sally was the centerpiece of the Fernandez family and she will be greatly missed. Sally was a San Francisco Giants fan through and through. She would swoon over Buster Posey each time he batted. She enjoyed trips to AT&T Park and she loved the city of San Francisco. Sally was also a big animal lover. She owned multiple dogs and cats at any given time during her life. She treated her pets as her own children and sometimes her own children as her pets. :) She decorated her house with roosters, angels and piggies. Her favorite quote... "You're going to get it", referring to her displeasure for the antics and shenanigans that her children and grandchildren occasionally indulged in. Sally is survived by her husband Robert Fernandez; sons; Steve, Johnny and Michael Fernandez; daughter, Lisa Fernandez; brothers Gabe, Art and Gilbert Arroyo; grandchildren, Edward, Eddie, Christopher, Isaac, Steven, Elizabeth, Nathan and Victoria and great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Kayne.Visitation Service will be held on Monday June 5, 2017 from 3:00pm-7:00pm with Rosary at 6:00pm, at Miller Memorial Chapel, 134 Cypress Woodlake, CA.The Fernandez family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love, prayers and support during this difficult time.
