We gather here today to honor the life and legacy of Sally Ellis, who was born on November 17, 1941 in Orange County, Virginia, United States. She was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Mildred Ellis.

Sally married her beloved Frank Poindexter in 1962 and together they raised six children: Carmen Ellis, Bridgette Ellis, the late Monique Ellis, Furmel Poindexter, Pierre Poindexter, and Jamires Poindexter. Which produced 5 grandchildren Brooks Ellis, Kristen Ellis, Bradley Blankenbaker, Trent Blankenbaker and Assani Poindexter.

Sally was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and wife. She had a heart of gold and a nurturing spirit, which led her to a career in babysitting a host of children. She retired in 2016 after many years of caring for others.

In her free time, Sally enjoyed cooking delicious meals and tending to her beautiful garden. She found joy in creating nourishing dishes for her family and friends, and her green thumb was admired by all who knew her.

On August 17, 2024, Sally Ellis passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
