Ruth Wright, age 100, of East Tawas died at the home of her daughter, Marjorie, on Thursday, July 8, 2010. She was born on Oct. 8, 1909, in Washington Township, Ohio, to her parents, E. Taylor and Nancy Hayes. She lived in the Brighton area for many years and has been a resident of East Tawas since approximately 1963. Ruth was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, she loved to spend time reading her Bible and loved to cook and was known for her homemade pies and noodles. She has made over 100 fleece blankets and was honored to be able to give them away. She is survived by her loving children, George Russell, Marjorie Field, Robert Russell and Edna Snyder-Larson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her youngest sister, Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 10, at the Church of the Nazarene in East Tawas. Visitation was held prior to the service. Interment followed in Sims-Whitney Cemetery in AuGres. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
