Ruth Virginia Weiseman, 100, of Hartford City, passed peacefully into heaven on Dec. 11, 2016, while in the company of family members at Miller's Merry Manor, Hartford City. Ruth was born on Feb. 19, 1916, to the late Blanche (Finche) and Anthony Meier. She was one of four children, was a 1934 graduate of Dunkirk High school, and happily married the late William Weiseman on Sept. 4, 1934. She was an active member of Mt. Tabor UMC and UMW, Bridge Club, Coffee Bowling League and Elks Lodge #1776. Ruth is survived by two sons; William (Bill) Weiseman, wife Christine, of Crystal Lake, Ill., and James (Jim) Weiseman, wife Pamela, of Hartford City. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, three brothers; Raymond Meier, Forrest (Dutch) Meier and Harry (Tony) Meier, special sister-in-law and friend Clara Reed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Tabor UMC in Dunkirk. Services will be held at MJS Mortuaries - Dunkirk Chapel on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at 1 p.m. with two hours of calling prior to the funeral from 11a.m. to 1 p.m., with Pastor Ron Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie. MJS Mortuaries - Dunkirk Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
