Ruth Marie BottomelyCorpus Christi, TX, formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY - Ruth Marie (Elliott) Bottomely, 57, died peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2017, in her home with her daughter, Caitlin, by her side. Ruth was born on June 7, 1960, in Lexington, KY, to the late Robert M. and Lynn M. (Thibeault) Elliott.During her too-short lifetime, Ruth was the Business Manager and Treasurer of her former husband's business, an aide at Poughkeepsie schools, a YMCA swim coach and a Home Health Care Aide for St. Francis Hospital. She moved to Texas two years ago to be closer to her daughter and her family. She loved to needle point, cook, read, puzzles, play card games and participated often in MG cars group trips.Survivors include her daughter, Caitlin (Bottomley) Smith of Corpus Christi, TX, son, Evan Bottomley of Beaver Meadows, PA, grandchildren William, Alaina, Kameron, Taylor, Sydney & Damen and her dog, Zoey. She also leaves behind her siblings, Denise Lynn Elliott-Wood and Peter Michael Elliott, her sister-in-law, Alicia (Chu) Elliott, one niece and three nephews, many maternal and paternal aunts, uncles, cousins and their kids.Private Services were held In Corpus Christi, but a Celebration of her Life will be held in the future back in her home town, Poughkeepsie, NY.In lieu of flowers, friends and relatives may visit online www.yourtribute.com, search for Ruth Bottomley, and sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family.
