Ruth O. Jones, 97St. CloudWillmar7/24/1919-3/22/2017Ruth O. Jones, 97, of St. Cloud, formerly of Willmar, died Wednesday, March 22nd at St. Benedict's Senior Community.  Her funeral will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 25th at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.  Memorials may be given to Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.   www.hafh.orgRuth was born on July 24, 1919, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Lena (Bolstad) Nelson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church and graduated from Willmar High School in 1937.  After high school, she began her career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.On August 16, 1946, she was united in marriage Robert F. Jones at Calvary Lutheran Church.  They lived in Willmar and Ruth continued to work for Northwestern Bell, except for a few years while raising her children.  She retired in 1977 after 30 years.Her family remembers her enjoyment of reading, embroidering dish towel sets, baking and cooking.  Ruth liked nothing better than to be a gracious host in her home for family gatherings.  She and Bob, truly enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren.  Whether they went on a picnic, to the park, swimming, attended their school events, Ruth and Bob wanted to be there and it brought smiles to their faces.Surviving are her daughter, Sue Kohl of Eden Prairie; son, Tom (and Karen) Jones of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren: Kathy (and Carl) Seeger, Kevin (and fiancée, Holly) Kohl, Danielle (and fiancé, Wayde) Jones, Stephanie (and Matt) Spreitzer, Jennifer (and Jason) Weimer, Anna Kohl, and Kristen Berreau; five great grandchildren: William, Nina, Joshua, Ani, and Lillian Seeger.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, on October 30, 2005; daughter, Patricia Norling; granddaughter, Michele Norling; sister, Nora Nelson and brother, Orlando Nelson.
