ALBION — Ruth Ann Derrow, age 63, died on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 1:16 a.m. at her home in Albion. Miss Derrow was born on March 19, 1950, in Auburn, Indiana, and was the daughter of Chester and Betty (Kunce) Derrow. She lived her lifetime in the Albion area, and graduated from Central Noble High School in the class of 1969. She worked at Dexter Axle in Albion and was a member of the Albion American Legion Post #246 Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, mowing her lawn and growing flowers. Surviving are her brothers, Tom and Tim Derrow of Albion; her brother-in-law, Dave Anderson of Albion; sisters, Lois Butler, Peggy Conley and June Derrow, all of Albion, Alice (Phil) Weeks of Albion, Mary (Roger) Owen of Columbia City and Jeannette Shlater of Churubusco; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Claire Anderson; and brothers-in-law, Joe Butler and Bob Shlater. Visitation will be on Sunday afternoon from 2-6 p.m. at Brazzell Funeral Home, Albion Chapel. Cremation will follow and there will be no funeral services. Burial of ashes at a later date will be at Sweet Cemetery in Albion. Memorials may be directed to Sweet Church or Parkview Hospice.
