XENIA — Ruth M. Coffey (West), 93, of Xenia, Ohio passed away April 8, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born on August 14, 1920 in Bellbrook, Ohio, one of 9 children born to the late Motty and Hattie (Ellis) West. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Coffey, son Steven Coffey, daughter Madonna (Coffey) Jackson, grandson Johnathan Coffey and 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Richard Coffey (Rose) of Cincinnati, Robert Coffey (Barbara) of Yellow Springs, Althea Parries (William II) of Xenia, and Arlin Jackson of Xenia; Sister-in-Law June (Willis) West; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews; as well as her church family and friends. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker who touched many lives by helping others, loved to work in her flower garden, and was an excellent seamstress. Ruth graciously served the Zion Baptist Church and was involved in many community activities including the Xenia Adult Recreation and Service Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with family present at 11:00 am at Zion Baptist Church, 565 E. Main Street, Xenia, Ohio. Services will begin at 12:00 pm with interment following at Bellbrook Cemetery, Bellbrook, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the Xenia Adult Recreation and Service Center.
