PratherRussell C. Prather, 71, of Cold Spring, passed away on October 10, 2017 at his home in Cold Spring, KY. Russell was born on October 4, 1946 in Slate Branch, Pulaski Co. KY to John Robert and Ruth Ella Prather who preceeded him in death, as well as his granny (Maymie), step mother (Lecta), nephew (Kenny) and uncle (Brad). Russell was a Dayton High School Graduate. Russell retired from Duke Energy at age 55, after 34 years of service. He received several medals while serving in the United States Army in Vietnam. His children and grandchildren were his life. He enjoyed helping them with home projects and attending all of their sporting events. Russell leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Melva (Noel) Prather, a son, Barry (Beth) Prather, a daughter, Deanna (Pat) Richardson, his brothers, Bob, Gene, Ed, and his sisters, Margie, and Patty. Russell is also survived by his grandchildren, Evan Patrick, David Robert, Alexis Caroline, John Russell, and 4 nephews, 6 nieces, and 1 godchild, and many many dear friends. Visitation 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 S. Ft. Thomas Ave. in Ft. Thomas, KY. Funeral Ceremony will be held 9:00 am Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Christ Baptist Church, 3810 Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring, KY. A shuttle bus will provide transportation from Furniture Fair to and from church. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery Southgate, KY.
