Rubin Benowitz AGE: 75 •Rubin Benowitz, age 75, passed away peacefully and went home to be with his Lord and Savior after an extended illness at his Vineland residence on Saturday, August 19, 2017. He was born on April 7, 1942 to David and Mildred Benowitz in Philadelphia, PA, but was a Vineland resident for most of his life. He was employed at Owens-Illinois, Inc. Kimble Glass in Vineland, NJ for 27 years. He also enjoyed working as a Vineland Special
Police Officer in his younger years.Rubin was a devoted family man. His favorite activities included playing cards, watching television and studying American history with a special interest in the Civil War. He also enjoyed watching professional baseball and football and listening to his collection of oldies music.He was predeceased by his brother, Allen Benowitz; his parents and his grandparents including his maternal grandmother Margaret Creelman, who held a special place in his heart for all the love and care she gave him. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Ruth Ann Benowitz (Morris) and his three children of whom he was very proud of; daughter, Pamela Purdy (Benowitz) and her husband Patrick of Millville and their children, Rebecca and Kayla; son, David R. Benowitz of Sewell and his children Ryan and Corey; and daughter, Marsha R. Benowitz of Vineland. He is also survived by sister, Beverly Smaniotto (Benowitz) and her husband Richard of Vineland; his brother, Angelo Benowitz of Key West, FL; his sister, Delores Ackerson (Benowitz) and her husband Robert of Beaverton, OR, and his brother, Louis Benowitz of Vineland as well as many brother and sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.Family and friends are welcome to attend his viewing on Thursday, August 24th from 9am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S.
