Roy Lee Jones was born on August 14, 1943 in McComb, Mississippi to the late Johnny and Arella Jones. A wife of 37 years, Meneva; two sons, Randy and Robert; three sisters, Catherine (his twin), Donnis and Johnnie Lee; two brothers, Dudley and De Walter all preceded him in death.

Roy received his education at St. Paul School and J.J. Gulledge School in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Roy accepted Christ at a young age and joined St. Paul M.B.C. In Tylertown, Mississippi.

Roy was united in holy matrimony to Meneva Simmons in 1963. They moved to Los Angeles, California in 1964 to make a better life for his family. He worked various jobs from maintenance worker, production worker, brick mason, and construction worker. He was a master of all tasks. He loved dogs, fishing and hunting.

On March 28, 2022, Roy departed this life into eternal life.

Roy leaves behind to cherish his memory: ten children, Rickey Jones, Devin Jones (Shani), Dylan Jones (Shakira), Carvah Jones-Magee (Rodney), Yahvah Jones (Cierra), CeCalie Jones, Myvah Jones, Halyn Jones, Antoinette Brookes, Shirrell Riddle and Tameka Balaka; one sister, Betty Jones; one brother, Donald Jones, Sr.(Mary); 30 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and caring friends.
