DYCK, Roswitha Christine Roswitha Christine Dyck passed away on January 30th, 2017 at St. Joseph General Hospital in Comox, BC, at 83 years of age. Roswitha was born on April 23, 1933, in Viersen, Germany, to Heinrich and Katherina Leng. Roswitha grew up during the hardships of the Second World War. After the war she studied to become a teacher in arts and crafts. In 1955, Roswitha married William J. Dyck, a Canadian Chemical Engineer working in West Germany. Roswitha and William had three children, Sylvia, Robert and Ludwig. During the first two decades of the marriage, Roswitha and the children moved back and forth from British Columbia to Germany. From 1977 onward, Roswitha resided permanently in BC, moving from Richmond, to Denman Island, to Courtney and finally to Union Bay. Roswitha's outstanding artistic sense is reflected in the beautiful houses she built and renovated, her "Bauernmalerei" folk art, her designer mirrors and her mosaics. She loved working in her beautiful gardens and spending time with her dogs. A devout Catholic, Roswitha never lost faith in the lord. Above all, Roswitha was most proud of her three children. Warm and kind, filled with boundless energy, Roswitha touched the hearts of all those who knew her. A memorial service for Roswitha C. Dyck will be held at Piercy's Mt. Washington Funeral Home, in Courtenay, on February 8, 2017, at 11:00 am. Please join us in remembering Roswitha by visiting our memorial at www.piercysmtwashingtonfuneral.com
