Rose Marie O'Connor, age 60, died on Friday, July 2, 2010, at Tendercare Nursing Home in Tawas City under the loving care of her family and grandson Brian at her side. She was born on Dec. 1, 1949, in Saginaw, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude LaVinge. Rose was a resident of Nashville, Tenn., for the past 10 years and was a former resident of Saginaw and Tawas City. Rose enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing and bowling, but most of all loved her family tradition of baking Christmas cookies. She married John David O'Connor in Saginaw in 1977 and he preceded her in death June 6, 2008. Rose is survived by her children, Wendy Hoefli, Tina Letson, Ann McClenon, Barbara Smith, Donald O'Connor and Marilyn Tester. She is also survived by her sister, Lou Ann Bradley; her grandchildren, Robert, Brian, Courtney, Ann E., Paige, Matt, Meghan, Joseph, CJ, Jade and Amber; and several nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Raymond Leston, whom she married in 1968; her brother; and her sister. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
