Ronald M. GreenSeptember 20, 1946 - August 23, 2016DoverRonald M. Green, 69, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Ron was the loving spouse of Joan M. (Noel) Green. Married at Camp Pendleton, Calif., they enjoyed 49 years of happiness together. Ron was born on September 20, 1946, to the late Mervin C Green and Thelma M (Lehman) Green. Ron graduated from York High in 1965. He honorably served his country as a United States Marine in the late 60s. He retired following over 30 years of service in the paint department from Harley Davidson. Earlier in his life, he drove a food truck for Amedia Beddia, worked as a carpenter for Harold Hogg, Inc. and was manager at Super Bowl Lanes. Ron was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union.His hobbies included gardening and crafting wood items. He was an avid Penn State and San Francisco 49er fan. In the 80s, he enjoyed bowling in traveling leagues and in the Preston Fiat League at Super Bowl Lanes. Joan and he loved traveling and winning at casinos. He will fondly be remembered as the one who knew how to throw a party.In addition to his wife, Joan, Ron will be missed by his pet golden conure parrot, Doogie. He is also survived and loved by his sister, Cathy, who is married to Mike Bair; sisters- and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and their families, and very dear friends. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Barry C. Green and James L. Green.A Memorial Service will be held in Ron's honor at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St. in York with the Rev. Stephen Fernandes, OFM Cap. officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00. Burial with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be at the convenience of the family in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.Memorial contributions in Ron's memory may be made to the . of PA, 3001 Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
