Ronald "Ron" Gene RoySan AngeloRonald Gene Roy, 73, passed away at his home in San Angelo on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017. He was born on May 26, 1944 in Oberlin, Ohio, but was a Texan, through and through.Ron was a man of many talents, but was most proud of his work as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor. Helping others was a passion of his. He was a man who led by example, inspiring those around him through his experience, strength and hope. Ron was grateful to God for the gifts in his life. Ron had the soul of a cowboy and spent countless hours dancing to country and western music or in the outdoors, hiking and camping. Ron was proud to be a Pasadena City Softball Champion. His greatest joy was derived from his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. Ron's love of life and giving nature will be greatly missed.Survivors include his sons, Ryan Roy and Ron Roy and his wife, Monica; grandchildren Deklyn Wilford Roy, Olivia Rose Roy and Dustin Michael Masters; as well as a host of other relatives and friends, many of which he considered to be family.A celebration of Ron's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at the Sherwood Club.Family and friends are encouraged to send condolences, share memories and sign the online guestbook at
