Myers, Ronald E.Ronald E Myers passed away on May 2, 2017, at age 65, after a 9-week battle with pancreatitis. He was born on September 23, 1951, in Akron, Ohio to the late Robert and Mary Jane Myers. He grew up in Ashland, Ohio, and graduated from Ashland High School in 1969. After going on to further his education, he started working for the Lincoln Electric Company. He moved to Green Bay in 1982 and worked as a Lincoln technical sales representative until his retirement. He married the former Janet Dettmann in 1983.Ron was an avid sports fan and especially loved the UWGB Girls' Basketball Team and the Green Bay Packers. He also had a wonderful time attending grade school and high school sporting events that his great-nieces Emily and Ashley participated in. He enjoyed flying airplanes in his younger years and attending EAA as part of his job, and just for fun. Ron made many good friends at Lincoln Electric and always enjoyed time he spent with them. His favorite place was Door County where he loved being with everyone at the family cottage in Sister Bay. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janet. Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory his brothers Richard Myers, Greg (Jeanette) Myers, and Gary (Jo) Myers, and his sisters, Cynthia Myers and Tonya (Ross) Jordan, and nieces and nephews, Mitch (Amy) Myers, Jason Myers, Heidi Myers, and Chad (Dianna) Myers. Ron is also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Lynn (Leigh) Barnes, Julie (Rob) Adams, nephew John (Jennie) Barnes, and great-nieces Emily and Ashley Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G and Mary Jane Myers, infant niece Megan M Myers, father- and mother-in-law John and Evelyn Dettmann. Ron had a kind and generous nature. He was the life of any party, a hard-worker, and always ready to lend a helping hand. He was truly one of those people you felt lucky to know. He will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts. He was a wonderful man who left us too soon. Family and friends may visit at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison St., Green Bay, on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 9:30 am to 11:15 am. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Julie Wrubbel-Lange officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Allouez. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.A memorial fund is being established and contributions can be made out to his wife, Janet Myers.
