Ronald "Chippy" David Clark, age 85, of Corsica, Pa., passed away in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side, on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was given the name Chippy as a young boy, while playing with a chipmunk that bit him. Chippy was born on Feb. 23, 1932, to the late Lawrence Clinton and Katherine C. (Aikens) Clark, in Corsica, Pa.. On Jan. 26, 1952, he married Bonnie Marie (Mineweaser) Clark at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville, Pa., and after 65 years of working side by side, Bonnie survives him. He first met Bonnie at the old Dixie Diner, and he let the air out of her tires so that he could give her a ride home. Chippy attended the Corsica Union School and he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He had a love of many things, but he was most proud of his family. He was a jokester who loved square dancing. On Sunday mornings he would play polka music while tinkering in the garage on his machinery. His motto was "Eat dessert first, because if you die, at least you had your pie." Most of his life he was a heavy equipment operator and he was very proud of working on the initial construction of Interstate 80, from mile markers 64 – 73. He enjoyed woodworking and picnics; any reason was a good reason to have a family picnic, and he loved having homemade grape-nut ice cream. His family meant the world to him, and he loved all of them very much. After Thanksgiving dinner each year, Chippy and his boys would spend the rest of the afternoon sighting in their guns, getting ready for the opening day of buck season; he loved to hunt. Chippy leaves behind an incredible legacy in his posterity, and his absence is deeply felt by all of them. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Nora (Fred) Carl, Sue (George) Gourley, Barb (Robert) Marshall; six sons: Larry "Hoss" (Nancy) Clark, Jim (Patricia) Clark, John (Cathy) Clark, Jerry (Linda) Clark, Den (Candi) Clark, Joe (Diane) Clark; two sisters, Alice Kerr, Dorothy Love; 21 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Chippy is preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Cherico, Audrey Bell; two brothers, Gerald Clark, Thomas Clark; three grandchildren, Rhonda Clark Thompson, Heidi Clark, Cynthia Servey; and two great-grandchildren, John and Katie Thompson. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 4 – 8 p.m., at the McKinney–d'Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825.
