Belmont resident, Rod Abellard, passed away on February 22nd, at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He died peacefully with his three kids and family by his side.
Rod was an employee of McLean and Mount Auburn hospital for more than 25 years. His co-workers remember him as an amazing man who loved to smile, laugh and make jokes. He was a hardworking man and never took no for an answer. Rod was also a very strict man, and especially a strict father. He would always encourage and push his kids to go above and beyond in their academics. Education for his kids was a very important thing for Rod. He made sure they all went to excellent schools that would eventually help them achieve their goals and dreams.
His kids remember as a hardheaded soul with limits and a man who wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. Even though the kids and Rod had their differences, they all loved him in their own way.
Rod will forever be missed.
