SCHALLERER, Robert Q. "Bob" 77, of Saint Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at Suncoast Hospice. Robert was born on May 27, 1939 in Battle Creek, MI to the late William Ralph Schallerer and the late Mildred Greer Schallerer. On April 29, 1967, he married his wife Elizabeth "Betty" nee Doherty Schallerer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Schallerer; brother, Don; and sisters Arlene and Audrey. Robert is survived by his nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of The National Guard and an employee of Merrill Lynch for 30 years. He was an active member of Holy Family Church, serving as a Knights of Columbus, Eucharistic Minister, and volunteered through Meals on Wheels and the food pantry. He also was a volunteer at St. Anthony's hospital and various other organizations. Bob considered St. Petersburg, FL his true home. Up until his final days he was always ready for another outing, be it to a local strawberry festival or a cruise. Services will be held at a later date at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
