Robert Newton GranthamJacksonRobert Newton Grantham, a longtime resident of Jackson, Mississippi, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at NHC of Tullahoma at the age of 91 years. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson, MS. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 10 and from 1:00 to 2:00 Saturday, March 11. Mr. Grantham was the son of the late Ray and Saleta Edwards Grantham. He was born on June 8, 1925 in Memphis, TN. He was a U S Navy veteran, serving during the
Korean War. He was a Pharmacist for 51 years and a member of the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. He was a member of the National Exchange Club of Jackson, MS and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He was also a Master Mason with 65 years of service. Mr. Grantham was a "Mr. Fix-it", enjoying tinkering and fixing all kinds of things. His hobbies included photography, gunsmithing and casting bullets. He was also an avid genealogist.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Earl Suiter Grantham; son, Charles Douglas Grantham; daughter, Cynthia Leigh Grantham Long and brother, Jasper Newton Grantham.Mr. Grantham is survived by one son, Steve Grantham and his wife, Judy of Tullahoma; sister, Lorraine Oakman of Brandon, MS; one granddaughter, Virginia Lee Grantham Collins and her husband, Ryan of Atlanta and one great grandchild on the way.Memorials donations may be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 3327 Old Canton Rd., Jackson, MS 39216 or the Baptist Children's Village, 805 North Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, MS 39209.
