Kresbaugh, Robert "Bob" Leon 92, of Chandler, AZ passed away on November 27, 2016 peacefully with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband to Pamela for 71 years, cherished father of Donald (Susan) and Janet (Lee) Van Ameyde, proud and adored grandfather of 7 grandchildren; Michael (Kashmir), Daniel, Julie (Dean), Alex, Kendall, Shane (Angela), Rachel (KC) and 9 great-grandchildren; Jacob, Ava, Kayden, Makenna, Aubrey, Noelle, Bebe, Jordan and Asher. Bob was born on October 27, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also grew up in Detroit and later joined the United States
Army. He was a decorated Sergeant, earning a
Purple Heart while serving in
World War II. He survived many battles throughout Europe including the Battle of the Bulge. He married Pamela on July 31, 1945 shortly after returning to the US. Their marriage was full of true love enduring until the final minutes, hand in hand. He was an avid military collector and enjoyed Michigan sports teams especially his Detroit Tigers. Bob enjoyed food from his home state including Detroit Coney Island and Buddy's Pizza. After retiring as an accountant, Bob and Pam moved to Chandler, Arizona. They enjoyed the warm temperatures, traveled and went out to lunch each day. He will be remembered for his kind heart and love of his family. A private burial will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations to are appreciated.
