Robert Ladd Denison, 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Memorial Medical Center, Las Cruces, New Mexico after his battle with pulmonary fibrosis.Ladd was born on September 6, 1954 in Carlsbad, New Mexico and spent his life in numerous places including Hobbs, New Mexico; Houston, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; New Braunfels, Texas; and Ruidoso, New Mexico. He spent the last 40 years as a professional drummer and played with many bands such as The Yellow Rose Band, Rick Tangle and the Squares, Jeff Strahand Band, Adam Johnson Band and The Mixx. He was blessed to open for the bands Lynard Skynard, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top and many others. He loved his job and always said how lucky he was to have the best and easiest job in the world. He was one of the kindest and most gentle souls as expressed by all who knew him.Ladd is survived by fiancé Brandi Darnold; nephew Drew Denison and wife Lindsey; great nieces, Baylee and Bristol; niece Kate Baca and husband Ray; great niece Regan and great nephew Reece; uncle Roger Huser; cousin Darlene Stafford and husband Danny; cousin Amy Gaines and husband Les; and other family members.Ladd is preceded in death by father Jim Denison; mother Jo Beth Denison; and brother Jack Denver Denison as well as other family members.Memorial Services will be planned for mid-August in order to accommodate his many out of town friends and family.
