Robert D. BirdwellRobert (Bob) Douglas Birdwell passed away at his home in Quincy, Florida on March 18, 2017. Robert was born on November 7, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the youngest of seven children born to Jessie Moreland Birdwell and Lula (Dyer) Birdwell.?? He graduated from Jefferson County High School in Monticello, Florida and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1955. After his 4 year tour with the Marines, he returned home and worked most of his life as an electrician.??He is survived by his daughter, Debra Gail Davis of Tallahassee Florida; four sons; three grandsons, Stefan, Shayne, and Cameron Davis; a granddaughter Chelsea Davis.; two great grandsons, Oren and Colton Davis; a great granddaughter, Elianna Davis, all living in Mississippi; his brother, James Birdwell of Pocatello, Idaho, and numerous other extended family and friends.??He is preceded in death by his son James Douglas Birdwell, his parents, Jessie Moreland Birdwell and Lula Birdwell and his siblings, Gilbert Birdwell, Billy Birdwell and Charlene (Birdwell) Howell.?? The family would like to thank Big Bend Hospice and a very special friend for their loving care.?? A private interment will be held at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.??Lifesong (850.627.1111) is assisting the family with arrangements.
