This obituary is administered by:
Robert H. Becker, D.D.S. 1949 - 2016 Robert H. Becker, D.D.S. unexpectedly passed away while on vacation in South Carolina, April 24, 2016, with his wife of 46 years by his side. Bob was born on Oct. 15, 1949, to William and Bernadette (nee Oberst) Becker and married Faye (nee Marino) Becker on Jan. 31, 1970. He loved every minute spent with their two sons Robert Jr (Fon Wang) and William (Tabbitha Becker), and with the arrival of four grandchildren Dominick (8), Tristan (6), Charles (3) and Leilei (3) that joy was multiplied. Bob was a graduate of William Horlick High School, received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin where he was a varsity tennis player and sole squash player to represent the University at the 1970 NCAA Squash Tournament. He received his dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1975. Upon graduation he volunteered for the US Army where he served three years as a dental surgeon in Germany. He continued to enjoy tennis and squash with a high level of success to include beating the All Army Tennis Champion. Upon his return to the US he practiced as a general dentist for three years before returning to school at Northwestern University for a Periodontal Residency. He never stopped learning, continuing studies with premier implant surgeons and institutes all over the world, which gave him the ability to help thousands of patients. His dedication to his patients was second to none. But always, the most important thing in his life was his family. He loved to share the things he loved, with his children and grandchildren and had looked forward to many more years to do so with them. His proudest moment in sports was winning the Racine Country Club Invitational Tournament with his son Bill in early 2004. Bob and Faye loved to travel, and over the years, played lots of golf and tennis together. Bob was involved in numerous professional and civic organizations: he served twice as the President of the Racine County Dental Society. Currently, he was President of the Wisconsin State Periodontal Society and a Board member of the Racine County Sports Hall of Fame. Bob was a long time member of the Racine Country Club and served 2 terms as President. Other organizations he served were the American Diabetes Association, United Way, The Prairie School and he was a member of St. Joseph's Parish. Bob is further survived by his siblings, Mary Ellen (John) Trimberger, Virginia (Robert) Jacko, William (Suzanne) Becker and Daniel (Joyce Campagna) Becker; sister-in-law, Mona Marino; brothers-in-law, Mark (Connie) Marino, Paul Marino and mother-in-law, Carmella Marino, numerous amazing nieces and nephews, all of whom enjoyed Uncle Bob's joie de vivre. His dedicated dental staff and many, many friends were like family to Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Bea and his father-in-law Eugene Marino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Friday, May 6, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1533 Erie Street, with Reverend Steve Varghese officiating.
