Robert A. PetersonAGE: 76 • Point Pleasant BeachRobert A. Peterson, age 76 of Point Pleasant Beach, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from complications of Parkinson's disease. Robert was born on August 1, 1940 in East Orange, NJ to the late George and Anna (Burns) Peterson. As a child Bob was raised and enjoyed many happy days in Point Pleasant and was a graduate of Point Pleasant Beach high school. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Until his retirement in 2010, Bob worked for Fort Monmouth as a Logistics Systems Manager. During his career he became the largest incentive award recipient as a Fort Monmouth civilian employee. During his leisure time, Bob enjoyed collecting records; he was also an extreme music enthusiast and history buff. Bob is survived by his loving wife Laverne (Salzano) Peterson, his son Brent Peterson, his sister and brother-in-law Louise and Clifford Hulsart, his nephew Clifford Hulsart, niece Lisa Hulsart and many loving friends. The memorial gathering will be held at Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Avenue Point Pleasant Beach on Thursday, October 27th, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will be offered at St. Denis RC Church, 90 Union Avenue Manasquan, 10:30am Friday, October 28th, 2016.
