Robert was born on December 11, 1943, in Pascagoula, Mississippi to the late Robert and Gertrude Holmes.

He passed on to eternal life on December 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Robert is survived by his devoted companion Louise, six children: Robert Earl Holmes III, Reginald Holmes, Stacey Holmes with spouse Jacqueline, Nathaniel Holmes, Mae Gandy, and Sonia Simmons, and grandchildren: Khalani, Kailyn, Karlee, Jaylen, Jinaise, Jasmine, D'Naja, Kasey, Kameron, Avery, Reginald, Frazier, Keyana, Taliyah, DyNasiah, Philicia, & Harold. A devoted and last standing brother William (Julia) Holmes. A host of dedicated nieces, nephews, and extended family: the Glaudes, Shannons’, Simmons’.

Robert worked diligently for the Cities of Pascagoula & Gautier, where he was highly respected by his colleagues. In his free time, he enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, always bringing a smile to those around him.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr.Robert Earl Holmes Sr, Gertrude Holmes, brother George Holmes, Wife Gladys Holmes, and sons Jason Earl Holmes, Hilton Simmons. May he rest in peace.
