Seelen, age 83, of St. Cloud who passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.Rita was born on April 4, 1934 in Richmond, Minnesota to Bernard and Hildegarde (Rieter) Seelen. She married James C. Seelen on August 17, 1953 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park. Rita worked for many years at Queens Fashion Clothing Store. She was a member of St. John Cantus Catholic Church, Rosary Sodality, Legion of Mary, Waite Park American Legion Siliver Star Post Auxiliary Unit #428, St. Cloud V.F.W. Post #4847 Auxiliary and Central Minnesota Koinonia.Rita enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends (especially her grandchildren).Rita is survived by her children, Mary (Gary) Jenderseck of Becker, Barbara of St. Cloud, Connie Foss of St. Cloud and Susan of St. Cloud; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister and brother, Lorraine Gohman, Elmer (Carol) Schreifels; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James in 2002; infant son, Joseph; brother, Sylvester Schreifels; and brother-in-law, Eugene Gohman.
