Rick StiresZANESVILLE: Rick L. Stires, 44, of Zanesville, died at 11:23 P.M. on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Ohio State University Wexler Medical Center. He was born on March 9, 1972 in Zanesville a son of Alfred G. "Bud" Stires and the late Shirley E. Giffin Stires. Rick had worked at Stambaugh's and Robertson's Heating and Cooling and attended Union Tabernacle Church. Rick was a Boy Scout leader. He was an outdoorsman who loved to cook.Surviving are his loving wife of 23 years, Melissa K. Swiger Stires of the home, whom he married on October 14, 1994; his father, Alfred G. "Bud" Stires; children, Nathan Stires and Cody Stires: brothers, Alfred (Sarah) Stires, Joseph (Tanya) Stires and Jerry (Kelly) Stires ;sisters, Elizabeth "Sue" Bailes and Sally (Allen) Gill of Newark; many nieces and nephews; including Rusty Stires and Amy Stires , whom he raised for a few years. Friends and family may call from 3:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Zanesville Bible Methodist Church, 925 Grove Road, Zanesville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday at the church with Rev. Terry Newman officiating.
