Trevett, Richard S. FORT MYERS, Fla. Richard S. "Dick" Trevett of Fort Myers passed peacefully on the morning of October 23, 2016, with his sons, Allen and Gary at his bedside. Dick is the son of William and Marion (Bates) Trevett; born on June 23, 1922, in Broadalbin, N.Y. Dick graduated from Broadalbin High School in 1940. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served as a radio operator for the O.S.S. He married his high school sweetheart, Leola Raes in 1949. Dick worked for General Electric as an accountant in Schenectady, retiring in 1981 to Ormond Beach, Fla., moving to Fort Myers in 1988. A recent highlight of his long life was a yearly O.S.S. (C.I.A.) celebration in Washington D.C., that he attended with his family since 2013. Dick was one of a few surviving original O.S.S. members that are honored every year where the prestigious General William J. Donovan Award is presented. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Robert; and his wife of 63 years, Leola. Dick is survived by two sons, Allen (Cathy) and Gary; three granddaughters, Bethany Trevett-Solow (Josh), Deirdre Trevett and Johanna Thiger; and two great-grandchildren, Cora and Everett Solow. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 28, at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the O.S.S. Society 7700 Leesburg Pike, Suite 324, Falls Church, VA 22043.
