Richard L. Bailey, age 88, of Hale, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2016 at Pines Assisted Living in Burton. He was born on February 2, 1928 in White Lake Township, Oakland County to Albert and Nora (McGivern) Bailey. He was retired from Detroit Edison where he worked as a lineman. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post in Lapeer and a member of the Moose Lodge in Holly. He enjoyed fishing. Richard served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1953. Richard is survived by his children, Kathleen (Paul) Taylor of Brooklyn, Debra Seybert of Phoenix, Ariz., Charlene (James) Lowe of Dallas, Texas, Tracey (Dan) Selley of Flint and Richard (Yrma) Bailey of Lapeer; brothers, Russell (Edith) Bailey of Holly and Robert (Alice) Bailey of Nashville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and special friends, Robbie Streeter and Jamie Kimmerer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; and 10 brothers and sisters.Visitation will be on Monday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale.
