ANGOLA — Richard E. "Butch" Hufnagle, age 65, of Angola, Indiana, and formerly of Fremont, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Richard was born on August 28, 1949, in Angola, Indiana, the son of Robert and Alvesta (Dirrim) Hufnagle. He was a retired general contractor, and did painting, carpentry and asphalt work. He also formerly worked for the Citgo Gas Station on the Indiana Toll Road, and was a manager for several hotels and was a property manager. He was a 1968 graduate of Fremont High School. His hobbies included refinishing furniture and going to antique auctions. Survivors include his son, Richard Allen "Rich" (Cheryl) Hufnagle of Constantia, New York; a grandson, Richard John Hufnagle; two adopted children, Jason Hufnagle of Angola, Indiana, and Mindy Hufnagle of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; two sisters, Martha and Roscoe Blotter of Fremont, Indiana, and Marsha and Frank Patterson of Fremont, Indiana; one brother, Jim and Arlene Hufnagle of Fremont, Indiana; and three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hufnagle, Lena Hufnagle and Judy Hufnagle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alvesta Hufnagle; three sisters, Joyce Hufnagle, Bonnie Pentico, and Janet Beck; and three brothers, Max Hufnagle, Robert Hufnagle, and Louis Hufnagle. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with the Rev. Stephen Altman officiating. There will be one hour of calling from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the services on Saturday. Burial will be at Fremont Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana Memorials are requested to the Humane Society of Steuben County or Steuben County Cancer Association.
