Richard E. HoffmanMANSFIELD: Richard E. Hoffman, 82, of Mansfield passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1935 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the son to Jacob and Inez (Conn) Hoffman.Richard was an employee of Hollingsworth Tire as a service technician for 40 years. He was a family man who enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed fishing, camping, family get togethers, visits to Cedar Point, and watching westerns. He was a long time member of the Moose.He is survived by his daughters, Alice (Carl) Goodyear, Donna (Tom) Filter, and Mary McNeil; a son, Richard Hoffman; eight grandchildren, Timothy (Renate) Danals, Jenni (Jeff) Daugherty, Tiffanie Hanshaw, Joshua (Donna) Filter, Andrew (Madison) Filter, Kevin (Sarah) Danals, Amber Filter, and Cody Filter; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Chloe, Hollee, Cheyenne, Xander, and Blaze; three great-great grandchildren and one on the way; and his beloved dog, PJ. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Hoffman; three sisters, Viola, Mary, and Josephine; and two brothers, Paul and George. The family will welcome friends from 2-5pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Services, 98 S. Diamond Street. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Mary at Mansfield Cemetery.
