Richard A. RaffoStuart, FLRichard A. (Dick) Raffo passed away peacefully on June 21, 2017. Dick was an avid golfer, tennis player and master angler. He was born on August 14, 1928 in New York City. He attended Xavier High School in New York City and Villanova University. He was predeceased by his wife, Adele Hopkins Raffo of 58 years and daughter Andrea, age 5.After college, Dick moved to Long Island, NY where he began a long career in the auto industry, opening Richard Chevrolet. In 1970, Dick moved to Palm Beach where he was a pioneer opening up the first Toyota dealerships along the East Coast of Florida from Miami up to Vero Beach.Dick was very active in Palm Beach, serving on many boards and organizations, including the Civic Association, where he served as Vice President and Shore Protection League. He was a member of the Everglades Club, the Beach Club, Sailfish Club, where he ran the Masters fishing tournament for several years. He was also a member of the Old Guard Society of Palm Beach, Mayacoo Lakes Country Club and the Crocodiles.In New York, Dick was a member of the Garden City Men's Club, the Atlantic Beach Club, Montauk Yacht Club, and the New York Athletic Club.He is survived by his daughter, Reina (Richard) Sinni, Richard (Jennifer) Raffo, Jr; granddaughters, Reina Kendall Kolman, Cornelia (James) Kelly; step-grandsons, Matthew (April) Sinni, Mark (Anna) Sinni and Daniel Sinni; great-grandchild, Madelyn Adele Kelly and step great-grandson, Sebastian Otto Sinni.A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10am at St. Edwards Church, 144 N. County Road, Palm Beach, FL 33480.
