Mr. Rex Glenn Anderson, 80, of Valdese, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center - Charlotte. Rex was born on August 14, 1937 in Grayson County, Va., to the late Noah Glenn Anderson and Lillie Ruth Anderson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Valdese, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was retired from Broughton Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Causby. Survivors include wife of 55 years, Charlean Putnam Anderson of the home; one daughter, Denise Kincaid and husband Joe Pigg of Lenoir; a daughter-in-law, Daphna Causby; one brother, Ray Anderson; two sisters, Lila Rutherford and Kate Wright. Also surviving are four grandsons: Bruce Ennis, Robert Kincaid, James Causby, and Ronald Causby; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Valdese, with Rev. Tim Horldt officiating. Interment followed at Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family received friends prior to the service.
