Mr. Raymond S Pearsall Sr., of Colorado Springs, CO died on August 9, 2020 at the age of 94.
Raymond was born on March 9, 1926 in Freeport, New York. His parents, Smith and Marguerite Pearsall, raised Raymond in Freeport, NY along with his younger sister and brother. Raymond enlisted into the US Army in 1944 at the age of 18, and shortly after basic training he was fighting in WWII as a pilot. Shortly after the war ended Raymond moved to Albion, MI where he received his undergraduate degree in Education at Albion College and taught at St Luke’s School for boys for the next 35 years.
In 1950, Raymond married Elizabeth Weyrauch, also a grammar school teacher. The young couple had 3 Children: Raymond Jr, Betsy, and Martin. The skills he learned both in the military and in the classroom, allowed him to successfully raise each of his 3 children to be upstanding members of society.
In 2006 Raymond moved to the Colorado Springs area to be near family, he enjoyed watching baseball or even the occasional monster truck race, he was always asking what events the kids or grand kids had, he wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to miss out, and he was everyone’s number one cheerleader.
Raymond will be loved and missed by daughter Betsy; son Martin; 14 grandchildren: Raymond III (DeLane), Roger (Marcy), Brandi (Bud), Gail (JB), Rebecca (Jason), Brent, Nathan (Saundra), Jill. He also has 17 great-grand children and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both his parents, and both siblings, his son Raymond Jr. (2005) and wife Elizabeth (2006).
At the family’s request, per CDC guidelines and Colorado State Mandates currently in place, no public services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers and gifts the family asking that donations be made to the American Heart Association, or American Diabetes Association.
