Raymond F. Trottier, age 89, of Oscoda, died in the comfort of his home on Saturday Aug. 13, 2011. He was born on Sept. 8, 1921 in Gwinn. He grew up in Flint and graduated valedictorian of his class in 1939. He served in the military during World War II in Honolulu. He moved to Oscoda in 1946 with his parents, Napolean Joseph Trottier and Mary Jane Weeks, and opened the Great Northern Resort. Ray met, married and was devoted to Marcia (Pilczuk). Together they owned and operated R&M Dockside in Tawas City. Mr. Trottier is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marcia; daughters, Janine and Nanette (John); son, Raymond (Tina); grandchildren, Trevor, Nanette, Eric and Michael; one brother, George; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Irene (Lawler); a son, Nathan; and a grandson, Tyler. Ray lived life to the fullest and was loved and adored by his Ohana, friends and community. He loved his family, swimming, exotic cars, the Upper Peninsula, and his heart was in Hawaii. Ray and Marcia spent the winters there for the last 28 years. To fill this deep void, we will call upon the wonderful memories of all the fun celebrations and trips we shared, full of love and laughter. Dear Dad, may you continue the celebration in heaven with all of our loved ones and Ohana already there. Mau Loa Aloha - forever love to you. Per Ray's wishes, a private scattering of his ashes will take place with his family in Hawaii. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a hospice or worthy charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements were by the Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda.
