Raymond Edmund "Day Day" Dawicki, 72, of West DuBois Ave., DuBois, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his home.He was born on February 18, 1943 in New Haven, Conn. He was the son of Stanley Joseph Dawicki and Susan Ruth Klimas. On February 26, 1962 in New Haven, he married the former Edith Louise Burchard who survives her husband.He was a veteran having served with the
U.S. Navy from 1962-1964 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.He worked for Colonial Quilt and Pad Co., Connecticut Coke-High steam operator for U.S. Steel, and was an over the road truck driver all over Connecticut for Werner Enterprises InternationalHe was a member of the
VFW in Brookville and the VFW in New Haven Conn., and American Legion in DuBois.Surviving in addition to his wife, are: Children Raymond Alan Dawicki of Milton, Fla., Tyann Louise DiChello of Pensacola, Fla., Sherrie Evan Roy (Jeffrey) of Brookville and Ormina Helen Lanzetta (Christopher) of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; Grandchildren: Tiffany Ellison, Jacklyn DiChello, Raymond, Michael, and Shawn Dawicki, Anthony DiChello, Brandon Dawicki, Amber Roy, and Joshua Lanzetta and Great-Grandchildren Kelcie and Gracie Ellison, Aryonna Lubahn, and Maison Dawicki.In addition, he is survived by siblings Constance Sunburg of Middletown, Conn., Thomas "Tucker" Dawicki (Alice) of Kentucky and Edward Dawicki (Jane) of Ohio.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Dawicki. Visitation at the McKinney Funeral Home, Main St., Brookville, will be on Friday, February 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015.
