Raymond Constantine Sr., 55, passed away in Anchorage, Alaska, due to natural causes on Oct. 21, 2016.A visitation took place at Saint Innocent Orthodox Church on Oct. 22, 2016, officiated by Father John Zabinko. A funeral service was held in Tyonek, Alaska, on Oct. 24, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church. Pallbearers are: Cornell Constantine, Keith Constantine, Ron McCord Jr., Chad King, Daniel Chickalusion and Leonard Trenton. Honorary pallbearers are: Steve Stephan, Maxim Chickalusion Jr., Joseph Standifer, William "Bill" Standifer Jr. and and Howard Chickalusion.Raymond was born on April 28, 1961. He was a lifelong Alaskan, a proud Dena'ina Athabascan born and raised in Tyonek. He attended E.L. Bob Bartlett High School. He was a maintenance worker for Cook Inlet Housing Authority and belonged to the Russian Orthodox Church. He was a hunter and a fisherman, enjoyed playing basketball, going camping, taking scenic drives along the water and walking his "Oreo." Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was known for his sense of humor, friendly smile and laugh. He was known for giving all of the kids nicknames and telling stories. He loved to talk to everyone; his favorite line was "phone me." He grew up hunting and fishing and was a hardworking man. He raised his children well and lead by example how to be loving, family oriented, respectful, giving and to always take care of each other. He enjoyed family gatherings, cooking our native foods and visiting with family and friends. He was an all-around great guy who will be missed by many.Raymond is survived by his wife, Charlene Constantine; children, Angie Constantine, Amanda Constantine, Raymond Constantine Jr. (Ruth), Roman Constantine and Ricky Constantine; grandchildren, Jonathan, Desirae, Ruben, Adrian and Mariah Constantine; sisters, Julia McCord, Margie Standifer, Freida McCord and Betty Bismark; brothers, William "Bill" Standifer Jr. and Joseph "Joe" Standifer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Fedora Constantine; and brothers, George Constantine and Alec Constantine.
