Benedict, RaymondBenedict, Raymond, 76, passed away March 2, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Fl. Raymond was born on Dec 11, 1940 in Binghamton, NY. He has also resided in Vancouver, Wa., Clearwater and Tierra Verde, Fl. He grew up in Binghamton, NY and attended Broome Community College. Raymond loved the outdoors, he was an avid snow skier, snowmobiler fisherman, hunter and boater. His real abiding passions were his family and friends. Raymond had a never ending love for education and the passing of eduction on to his family. He also loved to support his children and now his grandchildren in all their sporting and educational endeavors. Raymond was an avid sports watcher both at home and anywhere his grandchildren were playing. He was a generous, caring and honest person and lived life to its fullest. He co-owned and managed Benedict and Associates, a risk management business. He was also a Project Manager and Superintendent for NYDOT and FLDOT and worked for Groves Adkins on the I-205 bridge project in Vancouver, Wa. He is survived by his loving friend of 33 years, Brenda Johnson, his two children Randall Benedict (Susan) of Tampa, Fl. and Racquel Benedict, (Kris) of Fort Mill, SC., two grandchildren, Bryce Benedict and Kyle Benedict, sister Julie Direnzo (Sam), nephew and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Vanek and (Julius) Vanek, his father Raymond D. Benedict and brother Peter Vanek. He was laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, FL.
