With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ray (HongRu) Zhen, whose life was taken by a tragic accident on October 7, 2024, at the age of 16. Born on August 15, 2008, in Wuhan, China, to his devoted parents Jun Zhen and Tao Ye, Ray’s bright spirit and kindness touched all who knew him.

Ray was a dedicated student at Northridge High School, where he excelled academically and was known for his love of history. He was a curious learner, always excited to explore new topics and dive into the world of ideas. His passion for reading, especially science fiction, fueled his imagination for the future. Ray was also a talented Lego modeler, spending hours creating intricate designs that reflected his creativity and precision.

Though Ray’s time with us was brief, he left a lasting impact on his family, friends, and everyone who crossed his path. His intelligence, kindness, and gentle nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ray will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
