Ralph W. Montoya, 63, a lifetime resident of Rainsville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015. He was born on May 3, 1952, in Rainsville to Rafael Montoya and Lupita Pacheco Montoya.He was retired from his previous positions of miner, electrician, ranch hand and lifelong rancher. He loved his family, fishing, hunting, going to the casino but above all he loved his grandchildren.He was a lifetime Catholic and member of St. Gertrude's Church in Mora.He was preceded in death by his father: Rafael Montoya; brother-in-law: Charlie "Rooster" Trujillo; and granddaughter: Brandilyn Vigil.He is survived by his sons: Ralph Montoya of Hobbs, Greg Montoya (Beverly) of Rainsville; mother: Lupita Pacheco; brothers: Chester (Diana) Montoya of Albuquerque, Clarence (Yvonne) of Rainsville, David (Cleo) Montoya of Rainsville, Paul Montoya of Rainsville, Richard (Kelli) of Grants; sisters: Addie Trujillo of Ledoux, Connie (Benji) Cruz of Holman: grandchildren: Camden Montoya and Baileyann Montoya of Rainsville, Beau Vigil of Watrous, Brady (Amanda) Vigil of Ft. Riley, Kan,; special friend: Henry (Della) Casias of Rainsville; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora with Father Paul Grala as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rainsville with the following serving as casket bearers: Alfonso Montoya, Austin Montoya, Chester Montoya, David Montoya, Henry Casias, and Paul Montoya.
